What is Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome?

Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome (CHS) is a condition that causes severe, repeated episodes of nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain in people who use cannabis regularly. First described in 2004, CHS is increasingly recognized as cannabis use becomes more widespread. A hallmark symptom is compulsive hot bathing, which provides temporary relief.

Despite growing awareness, CHS remains poorly understood and frequently misdiagnosed. Our mission is to collect real-world data from people who have experienced CHS to advance research, improve diagnosis, and help others recognize their symptoms sooner.

Built on a Culture of Sharing

The cannabis community has always been rooted in looking out for each other — sharing knowledge, passing along what works, and helping people navigate new experiences. That same spirit drives this project. When someone shares their CHS story, they're doing what this community does best: making sure the next person doesn't have to figure it out alone.

CHS is still widely misunderstood, and too many people suffer in silence or go years without a diagnosis. By sharing what you've been through, you help build a body of knowledge that doctors, researchers, and fellow community members can learn from.
